Dear Teachers and School Administrators:
On Friday, February 23, 2018, the Lake Erie Folk Fest will present an exciting educational music program for middle school and high school students. The musicians are bilingual, and their presentation promises to be fun and informative for all students including French and music classes.
The program will feature a young traditional music group from Prince Edward Island called “Ten Strings and a Goat Skin.” The three-piece band will introduce students to the culture, history and music of east coast Canada. The French language has had a big influence on band members’ upbringing and music, and the band encourages questions.
The 45-minute program will take place at 10 a.m. at the Shore Cultural Centre in Euclid on Friday, February 23, 2018. Cost is $5 per student, teachers and chaperones are free. Please call the Shore Cultural Centre at 216-289-8578 to reserve tickets. Deadline to sign up is Monday, February 9. (Note that the deadline has been extended – we’re had a great response!)
